Such beautiful clarity here. I must confess I don't like thistles at all, but you have made a work of art of this one. Great composition and detail, and a nice background. Excellent work.

Barbara, this is absolutely beautiful, the thistle with the pink narrow petals and the supporting casings are so clear and well focused, I can see every detail from the top to the stem. This is beautiful to view, the clear background pushes this plant forward, exposure is perfect, colors and tones are natural. This is wonderful camera work, well presented! I wish I had a six to award this as it is certainly worthy!

Most people dislike thistles because of their stickers, but when one looks closely, thistles are beautiful, even their stickers. You looked closely and have their beauty perfectly captured. The focus was spot on the plant. The details of blossom and bud are pin sharp. The shallow background emphasizes the plant excellently, I like that you show two phases of development, an open blossom and an opening bud. The colors are realistic and the photo is well balanced and framed.
