Wow, what a story. I think it would definitely make a great movie. For an old photo, you certainly have restored it very well and the story behind it is more captivating than the shot.

Thank you very much! It is such a strange and unlikely story that getting anyone to take it seriously has been difficult. A documentary and horrible fiction film were done of the final phase in Guatemala -- long story. The quality documentary never got published due to an entanglement of political and economic factors, and the fiction film to me is like a dumpster horror story... I have grounds to sue the producer but lack the funds to do so. If you should hear of any conscientious filmmakers who might want to take the task on let me know!! I think it would make a 13 or more season series of which I have composed the first three episodes but would need a crew t help finish the rest ... I checked out your site and love your photography!
Thanks for you insightful review! Daphne Oberon

Bit by bit the fact that this hidden story has cast long shadows begins to lend it more and more credibility. I just wonder sometimes if I will still be around by the time a viable filmmaker gets seriously interested and my tale finds its voice! Did you give me your email and did I send you some material? I have a short piece written about my time on Cerralvo Island written from the perspective of a retired writer who heard stories abut me in Baja that might interest you. Did you send me your email and did I send it to you already, called La Caballera de Cerralvo -- the Cowgirl of Cerralvo? My email is daphneoberon@gmail.com; I do so much email lately I apologize that I don't rightly recall!! I do think my entire saga with my parents would go best into a long series, so maybe its time will come! Thanks for your interest! Daphne Oberon

Interesting story. The image though not for its quality, speaks volumes about the care and passion to save it from the vagaries of weather. Photos of yesteryear do get yellow and have that washed out look. You have done an excellent jod in the restoration. Good luck!

Thank you very much. I did get Pink Beyond the Clouds moved over to Photography. Of course it lost its place at the head of the cue and flew to the back of the review listing! (#2#!!!)

I like the journalistic feeling from this image. It sounds like you have had an interesting life. The color of the water and the huge rock formation in the water. It looks like a cliff peninsula of an island.

Great concept and subject matter. Awesome integrity in keeping to the original piece. I can understand why the suggestion has been made to enhance the photo. The blue hues would be brilliant, as would the colors of the shirts.

Thank you! You are someone who apparently sees why I do this then; that is keep entirely to the original piece! What is your opinion. Do you think enhancing the colors would not threaten its authenticity?...

interesting capture. the angle of the shot of this couple viewing that big rock out in the water is great. the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye interesting to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

Thanks! Are you finding the screenplay puts you to sleep! Some people who read the book said the story relaxed them. The lady who surprised me with the ballad read it three times because she said it took her into a different world that kind of wove a spell... Thanks again! Daphne Oberon

Not sure that I properly understood the notes associated with this photo, but I do appreciate why it was entered into the competition! Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely done!

I would be very interested to know what it was that you did not understand. Could you explain? Any aspect of my extravagant history is difficult to do any kind of synopsis of! I would appreciate feedback! Daphne Oberon

Quite a nice shot that shows the barren rock you call an island in good detail. The bit of biography reads like a fantasy but the picture is certainly grounded in fact.

Aptly captured for the contest theme...
Informative lengthy notes.

Bluish overtone lends a soothing effect.
I'd consider cropping a bit on top.
Please don't clip tips--trim more! ;-)

Who took this shot?
Self timed?

Poignant image.
Nostalgic post.

Great story telling factor.

Best of luck in the contest!

Thanks for sharing...

I think I answered you, but if not, thanks a lot and my father's nephew from England took the photo. I do think the photo needs a tiny bit of cropping and touching up, but after thinking about the fact that my history is hard to believe maybe leaving it "raw" is good or people will decide it has been faked....

Even before I read the artist notes, I sensed that this wasn't a 'happy family' photo because of the body language. Maybe the fact that I'm also psychic helps! Great capture, with beautiful clear colours and good composition.

Thank you very much! I could only pay you in art (!*!#$) right now because I am financially living on a razor's edge, but should you have an interest in sensing the point of this whole life experience for my soul, I would welcome that. A few psychic's I ran into in my twenty's picked up Julius Caesar, but that just added confusion to an already over-the top life story and not sure I believe it anyway. On the other hand I learned years later that my mother believed she was an incarnation of Brutus. When in one of her "possessed states" she turned on me as though I were Caesar, it worried me! My email is daphneoberon@gmail.com.

I will email you, and maybe I can pick up on something for you. If I can, it will be my pleasure to share what I learn. It's not always about the money, honey! Love and blessings to you. x

That would be very much appreciated! If you would like copies of my art or memoir attempts just say the word! Daphne Oberon

Thank you. This is a very old photo. I don't have Photoshop but have access to arrange to use it. Do you have any simple tips to me on what tools to use on it? This sounds brazen and like asking a lot, but I am just asking. If you know what it needs, and it is simple, could I email it to you to adjust? Just a thought. I wouldn't be so presumptuous except it is an irreplaceable historic photo... Thanks for the kind review! Daphne Oberon
