Excellent close up of this beautiful Aquilegia in your garden, Deborah and I like how you presented this with the frame. Excellent lighting and focus showing great detail in the flower markings. Lovely composition. Suzanne

Looks like a face and a trumpet; great color and form of blooms; like the yellow center; good green leaves behind; perfect focus; nice close up. Did you take a break? Watch out for that storm coming your way. Take care.

ah swimmer my friend I have missed you! Yes, took a bit of a sabbatical. Had some things going on this summer. Can't wait to see what kinds of things I've missed while I was gone. You are a peach for checking this piece out and giving it a gold star. Thank you soooo much.

You're very welcome. Hope you got everything done that you needed to. Watch out for Florence. You're not in the direct path but could still get a lot of rain and wind. Move inland if needed. Glad you're back. Take care.

awww....thank you for that. Does sound like Florence is going to be a real rain maker Swimmer. Fingers crossed it doesn't whip up the east coast!

Very nicely composed,I think overcast days seem to give us the best light for photos. This is a very eye pleasing shot with it's beautiful shades of purple and blue, backed up with verdant green. You have captured these flowers with clarity and excellent focus, detailing in the stamens is particularly sharp. You must have beautiful flower beds! Many thanks for sharing these with us! LeeAnn

That is a marvelous review LeeAnn and I do so appreciate it! Many thanks. My gardens btw are gorgeous...lol hmmnn that sounds a tad conceited doesn't it.....but the end of the season flowers are blossoming now. My season is almost done. Anyway, thank you again LeeAnn. You're a doll.

My garden consists mainly of goldenrod,a couple of butterfly bushes, and some orange milkweed, basically what the critters don?t like-lol! Hoping I can get it dug out and try again next spring-have to put fencing up,otherwise the deer will think it?s a pretty salad bar! :)

Well, it is about time you post something again. I have missed you so badly. Good to see you're okay. As far as the photograph, you know me. If I can eat it I like it. Not just kidding. Is a lovely picture. And, as you said it is almost lavender and not food. But close enough. The images quite attractive and I really enjoy looking at it. Been missing you my friend.

This is indeed a well thought out and intriguing rendition. I like very much that two of the Columbines are shown in different positions and a third soft in the background, which creates a nice triangle of blue and purple. The two diagonal placed blossoms show well defined detail. The colors are beautifully natural. The pale yellow of the stamens is especially intriguing and draws our eyes. The bud below ads extra interest.

I love the colours in this. It's not a flower I'm familiar with, but it is truly beautiful, and you have captured it in a clear, well composed shot. Great detail - I love it.
