As a young boy I started a cutting from one of these easy to grow succulents and gave it to my mom. That was in 1952. It came back to me years ago when my mom died and it is still thriving. A very nice shot to begin with and a piece of art when you are done.

I love you saw the potential for a great shot with this. Hopefully whoever planted it saw the perfect color harmony between the can and plant. Nice job on the background. Very complimentary and pulls the whole piece together. Well done!

Hi Annie!
That's just like what a lot of us here in upstate New York do,my friend!
: )
Your picture of this Succulent growing in it's 'ad hoc' planter is a lot of fun to see! : )

Now this is quirky! I love what you've done with this. The subject is nice and clear, positioned off centre, and the background is exactly right. Great work 0 well done.

Hi there,
How charming, I actually like what they do in Greece, I did not know they planted plants in cans like that, it gives the plant character actually as well as your photo.
I like the yellow and green shades you use to blend with the plant and the can. Good definition and clarity of the pedals of the plant, it looks like a succulent plant to me and you can see that, I like succulent plants :)
The composition is good, I would've liked to see the can more centered or the photo cropped so it wouldn't look lop sided if you centered the can,
Otherwise its a great photo!
You have a new fan! :)

I is charming. I think those old containers are more creative than some of the decorative plastic flower pots in fashion now.
I like how you changed the background using shades of the colors the plant and the can have. The yellow lightens the background and emphasizes the plant nicely. The composition is balanced. The can is well placed left of center while the plant branches to the right. The color shades at the background are contradicting in opposite direction which makes the creation very interesting.

I really like the idea of the marmalade tin as the container for this green plant, it looks like a type of succulent, I appreciate the background here with the yellow to green tones mimicking the colors in the tin . This is well focused, the image is clear, well controlled exposure, colors and tones appear natural. Well composed with the slightly off center placement of the tin, well presented and a pleasure to view.
