This is indeed a fine entry into this contest, because this bird is indeed colorful. I also think he is posing for you in a lovely way, and is standing out from the nicely softened background in an excellent way. I do however find the sort of halo around the bird a tad distracting.
Your photo is however sharp showing clear and well defined details in every part of the bird, and the exposure is very good.
The format and framing is perfect and the bird is well placed within the frame. I think this is a truly lovely and all together well taken photo with a very good DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

What a gorgeous multi colored parrot, he's got blue head and face interrupted by his bright orange beak and that patch of tropical green on the side of his head, an orange chest with a spot of bright yellow , the blue tone appears again on his belly interrupted by the patches of orange that run between the blue and his bright green wings, he is of course well focused, the image is clear, nice detail in his feathers in each different block of color, nice beak and a beautiful eye black with a white and red circle around it. This is an adorable pose with his head tilted as if he is listening to something that has caught his attention. This is very well photographed , composed and presented against the green/ white tones in the background. Best wishes to you in the contest!

Thank you so much, Sweet Lucas for your inspiring review and hug. Yes, I love God, and I am a Sunday School teacher for 4th graders. YAY! You could have been under me. By the way, I homeschooled my kids too for five years. Hope you'll remain homeschooled until you've finished high school, because public school, is not good. You're really beyond your years when it comes to your painting. I will stop by again tomorrow. Hug again.
