I believe your painting, because I lived in Arkansas some months. I can't drive so walk everywhere, and do you know, on a winter's evening, as I was walking home, the sky was often a blood red. It was amazing. I love your clouds and the black still land underneath it, though humanity usually perceives it the other way round.

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments. I went to your site to check it out. Beautiful work. And thanks for posting your last paintings that struck me so. Color adds such a dimension that brings a painting to life and yours in a special way.

This is extremely well done. Has super initial impact. I love your colour pallet. The scene is a beautiful interpretation of your interesting and well written story. I like how you have madecthecrugged mountainous territory in varying shades of a similar colour. Very pleasant to review.

Your painting makes me want to visit this place :) I like the bold colors you used in the sky. The way you created depth with the lighter shades in the landscape is very impressive too.

This is indeed a painting with a strong visual impact because of the vibrant colors of the sunrise clouds. I also like very much the contrast between these colors and all the lovely blue hues. It is nice that you so vividly tell us about this lovely place.

Your for sure know how to use your pallet knife, bringing out great textures, and also your use of high lights is very good. The colors are crisp and clear.

The format and framing is perfect, and with the river as a perfect leading line, it is a very good balance in the composition. Indeed a beautiful and well done painting Carl, and I wish you luck with the contest.

I think this is a gorgeous painting. I can't believe that you did that with a pallet knife. I think the colors are extremely amazing and I really want to go see the Rio Grande for real because of your painting

Sunrises are such a favorite subject of mine, each one is different , each brings the promise of a new day, it's usually a safe bet that the sunrise will be viewed alone ,I love early mornings. This is a spectacular display, the sun is just barely over the horizon and it has filled the sky with color, the bright yellow , orange and red color the clouds as they move over the dark blue sky, the brightest part is just above the horizon, the formations below that border the river are silhouetted as the sun hasn't reached them yet, the formations in the distance, closer to the horizon are waking up with light , nice rendering of the river, i like the diminishing perspective. This is very well rendered, beautifully arranged and a pleasure to view! Well presented! Best wishes to you in the contest!

Wow! What an awesome sight. Your knife work and the colours jumps at the viewer taking him to the middle of the scene. A skillfully painted work. Unmissable. Thanks for sharing! Good luck!

Fantabulously dramatic skyline.
Gorgeous harmonious colors!
Impressive Thirds!

Diminishing perspective lends a visual journey...

Vanishing viewpoint creates greater depth.

I also have a skyline almost similar to this semi surreal hues.....;-))
