I see a lot of grain in this photo. Not sure if this is a result of cropping or post processing. The photo could also use a boost in levels and/or contrast. Good luck in the contest and thanks for sharing.

This photo grabs your heart right away. And then, I read your artist notes and felt even more enthralled with the photo. You have captured the soul of this dog. Through her eyes you can feel the love this dog had to offer your mom. It's a wonderful image that is well shot and composed. That is my reason for the 6 star rating.

First of all, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother, and for the loss of this adorable little girl, Gracie looks like she was Pekingese, this is well focused, the image is clear, nice eye contact, this is a special breed, I have a half Peke!
