I don't like to use a 6 on Sundays, but this photo deserves it. If my son-in-law saw this buck, he would be dead. I love the lighting that seems to highlight the buck. The background of trees a tree trunks are a perfect backdrop. I'm glad you didn't blue the background. This is such a good capture of this beautiful deer.

I am not sure what N.C is or whether it is north or south. BY the trees alone I am assuming north, the greens of the south when I was there are a different hue, and possibly high up. That stag looks as though he is not sure what to do, run, stay or fight, a very odd stance. Even the wood log has come over really clearly.

A fine beast and a well focused shot. I like how you have light on the underside and ground and tree trunk it really enhances the outline.
The picture is cool and crisp with a hint of winter sunshine casting warmer shadows. A nice shot and theme for this time of year.
