What a wonderful picture. It clearly shows the beauty of this animal and the lean muscle throughout his body.
The fall setting highlights his face.
Thank you for sharing!

Good capture of this buck and yes guess you had to be quick to get this, good detailed shot and feels the frame, only thing that would have improved this would to have been the background more out of focus, but still a good one...Brian

A cute & candid capture!!
An interesting initial impact.
Sharply focused.
Fine facial features & smooth textures.
Nice higher than eye level shot.
Natural colors.
Gorgeous illumination.
Wildlife setting for a NatGeo material.
Pin sharp focusing.
Better to have more breathing space in front than at the back.
But still an excellent capture!
Good perspective & long depth of field...
Thanks for sharing...

Great looking shot.Fine example of wild life photography. The buck appears to be absolutely still and posing for you before taking off for adventures with does!:) Excellent sharpness and clarity.. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good luck!

Nice shot of this White Tail Jack. He looks well fed and in good shape. Not too old but moving into his prime. He willbe a nice big buck on day if he stays in the park. Great capture as you got him in an alert stance. I imagine he took off shortly after you got this great side angle shot. Focus is sharpand the colors are natural. The sunlight works well as it accents his back. Great work here Jack. Hunting with a camera is far more difficult than with a rifle. Well done Jack ~ Steve

Many congrats on a great shot of this buck;they don't often stay still for long, esp. when there is a doe in heat! He looks to be at least a 9,if not a 10 pt,depending on how high that one point is. Beautifully captured, colors look good and the image is well focused. He would be a good match against my buck! Wish you the best in the contest! :) LeeAnn

fanatstic picture mr jack. is a truly an iconic image, of a wonderful creature indeed and hope he can stay safe from the deer hunters. i like perfect profile shots, because it can give more educational detail. before photography was invented you got such amazing sketches in books; that have the same type of info as your capture.
