I was intrigued as I carve wood figures too, but this is LIFESIZE. I saw creations like this in France, but they were real people dressed up to be figures, making movements. In Germany as in the eastern countries, wood carving was of great import in the past. One presumes he has drunk them all, no wonder he sits and has to hold on.

Thank you for your review. Yes he is carved in wood. Throughout the city of Lubeck there are life sized wooden figures placed on the streets usually in shopping centres. We have one area with a family playing hide and seek hiding behind lampposts. This guy did look innubriated I have to say.

This is an interesting shot! You have chosen the shot well for the contest!. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your helpful remarks. It was a tricky shot that presented itself unexpectedly and I thought of the comp so could not resist a go.

A beautiful picture of the carved & polished wooden gentleman guarding the Gluhwein bottles lined up on the wall behind him. Beautiful eye-catching composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Thank you so much for your complimentary review with insight and helpful comments. I am learning so much from recognised techniques by other photographers as I am quite new to photography.
