This is beautiful! It's so clear and sharp. The light and colors are wonderful. This gives us a good look at the patterns in the wings. Great entry for the contest!

An unusual shot that tricks the eye. Very good close-up that is well-focused and the lighting throughout is very good also. The leaves and black area are a nice contrast. Having it sent off center may have been better but I realize sometimes things happen quick.

Very interesting image of these two giant swallowtails, once in awhile I happen to see one or two during the summer, which is a rare treat;Love the paler coloration of the underside of their wings.Great focus, colors are natural looking, good use of available light without the image being overexposed.Wish you the best in the contest with this wonderful image! :) LeeAnn

A fine looking shot! Skillful composition with well-defined center of interest perfectly framed to accentuate the theme of your piece. Overall very impressive. Good luck!

A very nice shot with great colors. I have only seen a few cases of butterflies mating but never saw this position before. Maybe there is a book in here somewhere; "The Kama Sutra of Papilio" perhaps.

You got me, SG. Not an expert on butterfly anatomy but that seems like the wrong set up. Unless they are practicing Kama Sutra. But it is a super photograph and what ever they are doing it made a really nice pattern. And you got a perfect angle on it. Good luck in the contest.

The swallowtail butterfly is probably one of my all time favourites and i remember as a child always looking out for one of these to complete my ISPY butterfly books that were the rave at the time in the 60/70s..The closest i got was to sketch one myself. Yu have captured these beautifully with a great detail and composition

Cannot see an improvement on this as you have captured what looks like duplicate wings on one butterfly. Your story is interesting and persuades the viewer to look closer. I like how you have split the scene diagonal black shadows down right and green highlighted leaves opposite left and top.
