Interesting shot showing one of the traditional fairs or ceremonial moments in India. Good color, great sense of place and the size of the action. Focus feels a little soft. Well captured.

amazing India, like China, when anything happens in India, the numbers are always massive. Not sure we would consider fifteen degrees cold. Traditions maketh the man, separates us from animals and when communists and dictators they both wipe out traditions and play on them, once one more once the other more. Hinduism, being ancient, is interesting because it uses water and fire and nature rather than man made sprinklings in its traditions. Superb photograph.

    what I mean is, once /time/ wiping out more, once /time/ playing the other more.. You had me thinking about this problem. When you live in England, we very often leave out words which in the event makes our meanings to the outsiders incomprehensible. I have only realised recently just how much we tend to do that as mother tongues speakers.

this is a great entry to the "story to tell" contest with a lot of people and interesting artist notes; wonderful colors with sharp focus;
I have seen something similar in Varanasi, about 40 years ago;

Loads of people wanting to bath out there! Must be because the water is so warm!! Your fine traditional composition and good notes provide a good sense of the scene and occasion. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!

A beautiful & interesting picture of the 'Kumbh Mela' of India showing the Pilgrims entering the river to 'bathe' & pray their reflections on the river's surface an added bonus, with people seeming to fill the picture as far as the horizon on the far bank. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus. Good luck in the contest.

I can imagine how uncomfortable those clothes would be when wet in those cold conditions. A very nice shot that shows the dedication of the faithful in beautiful colors.
