Congratulations on your win as well Fred! This is a beautiful winter scene! I love the reflection of the snow covered branches on the water and the swans make it even better! The focus is very good! The Black ans white looks great! Well done ! Lori

The elephant does seem to be agitated. His looks as though he is about to charge. Brave man to stand there while the vehicle is backed up. Good shot. The background doesn't seem to be a real clear. Maybe some humidity causing the washed out look.

    thanks;
    what is important are the people and elephant, not the bg!

A "breath taking" moment to say the least. You can feel the anticipation and potential danger in the shot. I would have preferred the point of focus to be more on the elephant than on the guide, but this works. Good composition, including the other people helps set this in place. Well done.

A dramatic confrontation which very well recorded. The three heads in the foreground are perfect and while the sky is a little bald the details are very sharp.

Wow, that would be a scary moment. Good reaction to get the shot. I've seen the havoc these guys can cause. (Not in person - just on TV).
Looks like he decided that was HIS road.

    thanks a lot robert;
    we had a good driver who was driving backwards very fast;
    I can tell you that everybody (2 more people behind me) were holding their breath; the tourist in front left almost paniked;

Exciting times. Happy it was a safari and not hunting pic. Been so many lately on social media. This is interesting as is your story. Nice framing made by the humans. The elephant is well focussed and you have caught his challenging stance. A nice shot.

Quite an interesting photo posted here! Wonder how it qualifies as a winter photo? Maybe though this competition allows any photo that is submitted during the winter months? Glad your skilful guide managed to extricate you out of the that tricky situation! Well taken!
