Allan, this is beautiful , it's simplicity is very effective to create the peacefulness of this place you describe and have created. The snow brings freshness to the ground , the tiny trees lie dormant but their little trunks and branches poke up out of the snow, the mature birch trunks are so very well rendered with the black detail on the silvery bark. I can see the time and thought you have applied here, the shadows on the snow add to the realism of this work. I like the hint of green adding another colortone from the grasses that still stand from the last season. This is very well arranged and presented! It was a pleasure to view!

Thanks much Pat for commenting on this art piece. I had fun doing it. I would like to be a better painter, but that does not take away the enjoyment of working on a new project. This is so pretty. I love a heavy snow. You go outside and everything is so quiet. It's truly a winter wonderland.I like your attention to detail with the shadows on the snow and the addition of the greenery between the trees is great! I also like the little twigs or small trees that are popping up out of the snow in the foreground.
