stylized Christmas card scene, but then where does a lot of our Christmas culture come from but the dark forests of Wagner and its former life, for which a 30 yr war was waged by the Christians under Charlamagne, driving the Irminsul underground, they thought! But as the Saxon chiefs road away, from the treaty, they went to give thanks at their Irminsul! My own Saxon grandmother was still not a Christian even when she died!

Thank you for reviewing I love your comments I am not finished with them. I am doing a bit of research. It wasn't meant to be a stylised Christmas card scene so it's interesting your interrpretation. May be it's my Christian heritage connecting with Christ's Mass I will enjoy looking up your history I have a very open mind. I am starting a painting for my step son who is German and I am using this as a back drop .. he is training to be a trucker so I hope to put him in a truck and our thay on the tracks. For his new appartment. Now I ask you a question "do you think it will work" for a young guy?

typo..rode not road. If his father married an english woman, then he will not be single minded, so, why not!!

Hi Brenda!
That's a pleasantly colorful and
enjoyably interesting scene that you've presented us with here,my friend!
Probably because of my deep interest in Twentieth Century military history the picture makes me think of the track marks left in the snow by Panzers entering the heavy forests of the Shnee Eifel
along the Belgiun/German border at the start of the Ardennes Offensive ( a historic military action that most of my countrymen refer to as 'The Battle of the Bulge' ) in December of 1944 .

You have completely won me over with your interrpretation of this scene .... i can see it so much and it is basically a German scene Its very interesting what viewers of artwork see in your work different to what your idea was. I love your story. Thank you so much for sharing it also your generous rating and time for reviewing.

An eye catching image with great colors. It is a beautiful world when you can have the milky way spread out over such an attractively lit landscape. Best of luck in the contest.

This painting of a winterscene is very well rendered. Lovely smooth washes of watercolours. There is clarity and depth in the painting. The light and shading is just fine. Overall a very good effort.Good luck!

Warmly lit pines look like sickly souls secretly searching for serenity...
Excellent choice of subject.
Diminishing perspective leads the viewers to the dramatic skyline...
Vanishing viewpoint creates greater depth.

Gorgeous colors & fine textures...
Thanks for sharing...

I love that expression 'sickly soles" they are also a bit drunken leaning to the left I think. Great review though. Thank you.
