Really nice silhouette shot here, Mike. The colors in the sky and the reflection on the water are really stunning. The composition with the surfer walking down the beach is really lovely.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
I plan on riding my "last wave" straight up to heaven on my last day. ;)
Captain I do like that most of your posts offer a lesson/hidden message for those willing to receive it.
The colors, the majestic glow, the low key style and the silohuette surfer dude are all working here to make this so special.
I do like that you did not over do it on saturation.
Less is more and this is a beauty.
Nicely done.
;)

I want to thank you for two things Sandra. First is for your More than Generous rating. I truly appreciate that.

More importantly some things you said made me realize something:

When you mentioned that some of the things I say are for those willing to hear (for those that have ears listen) it struck me. All of those lessons/messages come to me as I sit and stare at a photo. It is strange because they are not My words or concepts. It is like falling into a zone or another way of 'Knowing' and I simply write the words down. After the 'flow' has ended I go back and read what has been written. I am always amazed at the deep truths that are there.

Something tells me that we do not or cannot enter the Kingdom alone. I think we have to bring someone with us, someone that God 'Invited' Through us, if that makes sense. We are not to hide the light we are given under a bushel basket so to speak. If it is true that we must bring another along then that changes Everything. I can no longer be concerned solely about my Own Salvation. Hmmm. I need to ponder this bit more.

Anyway, thank you again for your marvelous commentary. I am already thankful for your recovery and your return to doing those things that you are destined to do ~ Captain Farkle

P.S. I have also learned to get a photo exactly the way I want it and then reduce the saturation to an uncomfortable level for me. That seems to do the trick.

Lovely notes! Your work on the colors in this image make for a truly stunning appearance. I am also really enamored with the exquisite sharpness, color and light of the water. Honestly, I want to crop out the surfer so I can just enjoy the luxurious beauty of the water, horizon, ships and sky colors! I understand that he belongs to the scene and the notes, but I think that water is way too grand for him, lol!

Aw Grace, you are too kind. I would say that I was trying to shoot the sunset when this guy walked right in front of my picture, but that would be stretching it a bit ; )

LOL Yes the water is Far too good for him! I will tell him the next time I see him.

I do So appreciate you taking the time to go back and check out the things I have posted. You are Such a good friend and your name says it all: Grace. You have it and you bring it to others.

My final post will be a toast to the members of FAR. I have not written it yet but know that I will have you and a special group in mind as I compose the thoughts I want to convey.

Thank you Grace for your More than generous rating, even though that rude guy got right in the way ; )

Take care and know Only Good thoughts are coming your way ~ Steve

Steve, I love how your surfer seems to be looking out at the water and reminiscing about that last wave.

Your colors are truly beautiful here.

Beautifully done and captured.

Lovely piece!

Reminds me of the Endless Summer movie. Perfect silhouette, perfectly placed, with perfect title. Dramatic sky colors with perfect timing for capturing the subtle colors reflected in the water. Top notch work, Steve.

A nicely composed image with great light in the clouds. The pose is dynamic and the silhouette is well captured. I am not so fond of the bluish glow behind his neck.

This is a wonderful interpretation to a meaningful free verse poem. The mixed media additions are skilfully applied. The sky in sunrise/sunset colors without showing the sun is impressive. The clouds and the shadow of the surfer interpret the metaphysical meaning of the poem excellently. The halo, created of reflection around the surfer, deepens the mood and metaphysical meaning of the creation.

A stunning capture with good storytelling with your photography. So beautiful are those colors across the sky with their beautiful reflections on the water. I like the silhouetted image with the surf board. Gorgeous landscape with nice movement in your scene and wonderful artistic composition. Love the dynamic image! Happy Holidays!
