I don,t like selfies, most of them have nothing to do with photography what so ever and mostly self indulgent.
Although I would slightly describe this as a touch of self indulgence,it is different and its thinking outside the box for sure,i like the pose against the brickwork,my only thing is whether a plain b/w or sepia would have been better still, but is interesting...Brian

that is fab if this selfie then made you reconsider them brian. yes to a certain respect i totally agree. on the other hand most great artists, like van gogh spent a lifetime painting himself. i had two photos; one of the arch itself but it did not make for a good composition and this one. the arch i felt made for a good natural frame.thank

Dramatic portrait photograph of yourself situated off-center under the arch. The folds of your jacket seem sections of the arch. The leaning tree,at the side, with branches above the pediment, is well done, too.
Cordially,

Very creative and nice! I like the photograph image and the mixed media effects. I think the overlay of diagonal stripes across the image are attractive, and I like how the ones that cover your face and clothing are reminiscent of tiger stripes!

this is excellent, man. this is truly excellent. the striped features on certain parts of this sepia kind of photograph. it really looks like something from world war 2 or somewhere close

I thought that the face looks like you, even as the expression is one of Sherlock Holmes on the hunt for the mysterious murderer. The composition of the photo is especial interesting. A modern construction area in the background, the historic arch in the middle and in front the person which connects both, the history and the modern world. This is really well thought out. The limited colors and the filters emphasize the mode of the picture. The composition is well balanced and framed. I also appreciate the historic information in your comments very much.

Hi Vincent!
There's a Cool picture,my friend! : )
The mysterious 'clawed' look on that chap's face and the archway itself gives the scene a sort of eerily 'Lovecraft-ian' tone that makes me think of the wonderful short story 'Crouch End' that the famous Horror writer Stephen King created a few decades ago!
'Good Show',my friend!

Vincent,
An interesting self portrait with the Victorian archway, entrance to the now demolished Rothschild building, in London's East end. Your digital manipulation has given the picture a unique appearance. While allowing the original outlines to remain. Artistic composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera & digital techniques and sharp focus.
