Nice capture of the buttes and mittens. I haven't made it there, but it's on my list. Love the deep red color of the foreground and the sky color adds a nice contrast. Well focused and lighting is good.

Was there a month earlier, you may of seen the hubcap that I lost somewhere there on that wonderful paved road.

Problem with being a visitor is that one does not have the ability to wait for the proper lighting and sky, one is forced to go with the hand dealt.
The lighting is rather bland, appears to be about high noon on a overcast day which does a good job of showing the detail but lacks a good colored sky to contrast with the red rock or shadows to do some modeling. Too bad that you did not capture a vehicle to show the huge size of these mesas.

The American West is an amazing place, just hope that sometime I can spend a fair amount of time there to be able to capture it during some of the more interesting days.

That area is so beautiful and you've captured the true color. I've driven thru here many times and have not ever seen a bad view. Thank you for sharing this.

I like how much detail you manage to get from such a great distances. And you are good at showing the large expanse of the landscape. The rich color saturation is very attractive too.

Beautiful reddish brown earth colors. The ridges and valleys in the ground, along with their colors, balances, beautifully, against the upright buttes.
Cordially,

Wonderful initial impression: this is a beautiful and very interesting view, I love the warm coppery color and the incredible formations, the sky has a bit of a lavender tone. This is well photographed with good focus, the image is clear to view, exposure is well managed, colors and tones are natural. Well composed with a nice placement of the horizon , well presented!

What a sight! I love the color. I went to this area years ago and thought any minute I would see the Calvary coming into view chasing some Indians.
Very interesting!

A classic capture with great clarity and dof. I love the colours of the land with its umpteen shades of brown. The rugged land shows off well against the plain sky!
