Yep this is gross but part of the real life world we live in. You managed to catch a cool moment. The shadow under one foot is kinda cool. Not rely at all.

This gull having its lunch is really well captured Frank, but it is not the most delicious lunch I have seen. Unless you are a gull. The background is nicely softened for the bird to stand out in an excellent way, and I like the way the light is falling on the bird.
Your photo is nice and sharp and it is clear and well defined details to be seen both in the gull and its prey. I also think the exposure is fine.
The format you have cropped the photo into works well and the bird has got a fine placement off to the left. Indeed a great looking and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

This picture perfectly depicts a seagull and its urge to eat anything and everything. Coming from a seaside town this picture means a lot to me. they never can have enough!
