Wow what a great action shot.
Both birds with out stretched wings. It looks like a stand off.
You have captured this moment in time beautifully.
Perfectly framed and presented.
Great focus and interest.
Crisp and sharp.
Great color harmony.
Very impressive.

This picture shows so much with just these two birds. you can see the emotion from each birds posture thanks to the incredible timing of the photo. the bright red of the cardinal is as imposing in the picture as it is to the little bird.

Nice shot!
I have seen this very scene so many times. I have always fed the birds and I guess they are all "mean" in one way or the other.
It is a good thing you was using a fast shutter speed or you would have had nothing but a blur. Good job!

Game on! Nice capture of this confrontation. The lighting is really beautiful as are the colors. The soft muted background makes such a nice canvas. Lovely work.

Beautiful composition of a face-off between the cardinal and sparrow.The wing span of the cardinal,and tails of both birds;together with the upraised feet of the sparrow, make it a nice action photograph.The impressionistic view of tree branches,behind,relieves the hard horizontal of the railing.
Cordially,
Joanna Bachman

Thank you! I really like to try to capture the funny behavior of animals.

a great and very unusual stop action Grace of these two birds fighting for the seeds; unfortunately, the house finch who came later and who is much smaller has no chance;

Great capture of the action giving us a good look at the behavior of these birds. I love the wing positions and the way the light is shining on the wings.
