WOW . This is one mean looking kitty. looks like he could take half of your face off with one swipe. Very creative in his striking pose.
Awesome focus and lighting. He is really a good looking cat and I just love his expression. COOL BEANS!

Hi Envision, That's quite the look the Lynx is giving you! I would not like to be on his bad side. Makes a very interesting image. Focus and lighting are perfect. Very Cool Shot! :o) Helvi

Nice shot! Sharp and clear. Harmony of gray, brown and tan colors support their nickname "shadows of the forest". They look like domestic cats but actually in the wildlife I don't want to meet one of them in the forest. They have a habit to hide in the trees above the trails and jump to attack. I'm afraid of them. You're posting a lot more this year, my friend. Thanks for including the notes, Grace. I reed every word of them.

It is a great photo. He has a look on his face like what are you looking at? I have seen one walking our road one night ( the bob cat). You could tell by the way it walked. I love this picture and glad you were in the right place at the right time.

What a great shot here Grace. Those piercing eye are enough to make a person stop dead in their tracks.

Those ear tufts are just so cool. They look like horns. Wonderful capture as he turned to look at you. Very well done Grace ~ Steve

P.S. The more I looked at this the more captivated I became with that look. Just Had to give this ne it's due.

You cheated! You are to go out in the bushes and sit and wait until one passes by you. Then wait until he chases a squirrel or something! LOL! Don't we wish! I know these things are a wish which I would give a lot to see. My son was hunting deer one time and while waiting for a deer to come into his sight he saw that very thing. I was only kidding about the cheating I am planning to go to the Zoo in Louisville Kentucky and get all I can. I will cheat too after that. I really do like your photograph!

Lol! I don't mind the cheating comment at all! This is the only way I will ever see one of these guys and that filthy, smudged up glass barrier can be a challenge :) I have seen coyotes in the wild, but I don't live far enough north to see the lynx. I hope you enjoy the animals at the Louisville Zoo. I hope they are well taken care of too. It is sad that they have to be in a zoo to being with. Thank you for your nice and humorous comments :)

He has a bit of a bedraggled look about him. I guess the rain will do that. A very nice pose though and a fine shot with great eye contact and excellent colors.

I especially like the eye contact you had with this Lynx when the photo was taken, and you have pictured him so well. He looks different from the Lynx we have wild in Norway, but I agree, he is a handsome looking guy. I like the background as well because it offers a limited color pallet, and the animal is standing out from it in an excellent way.

Your focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the Lynx, and you have also brought out the fine textures of the fur. The exposure is of course perfect.

The format and framing works well, and the Lynx has got a very good placement off to the right. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo Grace, and with an excellent DOF.

Mr very handsome wilderness cat here looks almost like an owl. Very professionally shot photo of this animal in subdued lighting against a similarly colored background! My admiration! Daphne Oberon
