What a wonderful image. At first glance I thought this was a painting, but after a more thorough examination I realized that this was a photograph. The deer is tack sharp. I believe that the field being in focus both in front and behind the deer lends to the sense that this is a painting. I like the catch-light in the eyes. Well done.

is this... real? it doesn't exactly look like it. i've never seen a deer this young that didn't have spots... or that was this muscular :D the details in the fur are good, and it is a good entry for the contest though :) bon chance
