I need a preview of spring Pat, because here it is pretty cold outside. I have the same tulips in my garden, and with the strong and vibrant colors they are indeed lovely.
I especially like the close and personal approach, and the dark background. Your focus is spot on and sharp showing really clear and well defined details both in the petals, the stamens and the pistil, and the exposure is perfect.
The tight framing and the centered position of the flower works really well. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

I love the grocery store flowers, especially with camera in hand. This is a tulip? I've seen these colors, but this lays open so nicely and displays those popping bright colors. Nice sharp focus.

What a cup of red and yellow color,with the stamen in the center supplying brown dots on their pistils.The diagonals of "sleeping tulips," to the right;and,all of the tulips against the black background, are striking.
