Amazing, and in olden times it would have been surrounded tightly by other buildings, hence it sits where it does. One wonders if the damp is being drawn into the wood and structure but it still stands so it cannot have done much damage, and it probably withstood the bombing primarily because it stood on the water.

Thank you for reviewing. As always very interesting what you say. Perhaps the fact it is straddled over water with a constant airflow has helped to preserve this remarkable building and thus avoided damp damage. The photo actually doesn't do it justice. The brickwork and windows and it's quirky unlinearness is a lesson in sustainable architecture.

A reasonably good entry into the competition posted here! Your full, central and traditional composition offers us a fairly good view of the building. Exposure is fine but just feel that the shot is a little blurred and has bit too much noise. Otherwise, nice try. Good luck!

Thank you for reviewing. This was a long shot that i cropped there was so much distraction either side. I did try to sharpen without a lot of success. Helpful comments though appreciated.

A very nice shot of this historical building. The perspective is excellent and shows the waterway beneath the building and the pair of swans. Excellent architectural detail and great colors.
