You did surely a good work cleaning up and emphasizing the stones, but I am not convinced that your rigorous work does bear the attempted goal. The stones are over-powering the landscape., Especially since the rocks in front cover 2/3 of the image. All the rocks look cracked and broken, but their surface seem smooth. There is indeed a 3D appearance below, but the depth in the lower half seems different then the depth of the landscape above which seems to divide the picture. Sorry for the harsh critique and rating but this is what I honestly think.

Hi Cleo I thought the whole image was fascinating. A small gorge with a tiny waterfall. This view was all about the rocks narrow gorge and waterfall. Some of the rocks did have cracks and by the water the were so smooth. I'm sorry you didn't like this one but I truly loved the site. I do appreciate your feelings on the shot. I do like hearing what other people have to say. Thanks for the review1 :o) Helvi

    You're most welcome.
It is not that I dislike the shot. It is just that I feel the upper third and lower 2/3 do not accemble with each other.

The image has great DOF in that everything is tack sharp. The stream comes down the middle of the frame with rocks and trees on both sides so there is a sense of balance. This is an excellent shot.

This is a gorgeous scene! I like how you framed the rocks with the water in the center as the entrance into the scene and how it leads directly to the waterfall. That creates great depth. You did such a nice job giving the rocks attractive texture too.

Nice angle of shot and depth of field, but the photo is a bit too bright, try to reduce the brightness to get more natural colors

good composition and presentation

thanks for sharing

Cool,Helvi!
It's a fine looking picture showing us what's obviously a 'Place of Mystery' ! ( as my Pagan friends like to call such areas! )
Indeed!
I'm receiving pleasantly 'mysterious' vibes emanating from the rocks just by viewing this wonderful picture! : )
'Good Show',my friend!

I liked this scene when I first saw it. Then I read your notes on ALL the things you did to give it that special look.

Amazing is all I can say. Have never heard of tracing an item, taking it out, working on it and then pasting it back in.

Great work Nancy, This is a well composed scene with good framing of the river by the rocks and multi colored trees. The water falls add a nice touch of drama. Well done Nancy ~ Steve

You've created a beautiful piece of art. This is a very beautiful piece of scenery with the most vivid coloring and true to life forms and vegetation. Very clean, clear and crisp.

It's a beautiful spot, Helvi. The rock have such unsual shapes and polished look to them. I like how they frame the photo on each side taking your eye down the middle to the waterfall. Great Autumn colors. Well focused and lighting is excellent.

I loved the shapes of the rocks and the fact you could move around on them to capture different angles. I had so much fun out there. Thank you for the wonderful review! :o) Nancy

With all the work you did on this beautiful image I would have thought that maybe you would remove that bridge too. A very fine image with sharp detail and beautiful colors.
