This is beautiful. No wonder you were excited to capture it. And you have done so superbly. All markings are clear and the profile is sharp, good focus. The fushia pinkish flowers suit this very well. I like that they are slightly defused and blurred. I wondered if you would mind me using this as a reference photo for one of my Artist Trading Cards? I am doing a series which includes insects etc. This would be great in my set as a miniature art work. I do put my own style into it. I don't do photorealistic completely.

Really nice photo of this tiger swallowtail drinking nectar from these brilliant rhododendrons. I have to go outside every time I spot one too,in hopes of getting a decent photo'and Often it's just hard to get one with their wings constantly in motion.A very enjoyable image, and a beautiful contest entry, wish you all the best!

A very nice looking Easter Tiger Swallowtail. The shot is well composed and the details are nicely shown. It seems to me that I would desaturate the blues a bit to bring out the yellow in the butterfly. Best of luck in the contest.

It is a great looking butterfly you have captured here, and with the vibrant pink colors of the flowers, this is a photo with a strong visual impact. With the softened background, the Swallowtail is also standing out in an excellent way.

I do however think your photo could have been sharper, but it is still possible to see clear details in the wings and body of the butterfly. The exposure is perfect.

The way you have cropped the photo works well, and the butterfly has got a fine placement within the frame. All together a lovely and well taken photo with a very good DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest. You could try to sharpen the photo and see if it turns out well.
