Thanks for sharing this beautiful, sharp, nature shot! Love the contrast of the white daisy vs. the green background leaves. I also learned something - had never heard of a hover fly :)

Cool,Cleo!
I'm familiar with these bothersome creatures indeed,my friend!
They quite literally 'haunt' the trails through the woods and by the swamps up here!
Your fine looking photograph of this one is very enjoyable to see!

That is an impressive macro of the hover fly,definitely bigger than life! Very well framed with good focus and true natural colors throughout,really like the veining in the wings.A great look at this little fly!

The pattern on the body of this hoverfly looks like a Allograpta species. You captured very nice detail of this guy. I like how the pattern of the wing can be seen so clearly too.

Great photo with great detail and colors. Maybe it is some new fly-bee hybrid! The face and wings look like a fly and the body looks like an albino of one of those carnivorous bees! Good luck with the identification! Daphne Oberon PS looks like a sand wasp but they come from Australia!

Quite a nice entry into the competition posted here! Your full and off centre composition allows enjoyable looks at bloom and bee. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!

a bee or not a bee: this is the question..and obviously not a bee no antenna) very likely a hoverfly;
a very good close up with sharp focus, just a bit too bright: would look much better 1 stop less;

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments. There are two short things at the middle of the head. I thought those are antennas. What are they?
-
very short antennas, different from bees
