BRENDA, this is a nice painting! Perfect perspective! Great combination of the colors. Good composition! Realistic proportions of the figure and the camels. Nice job!!!

and where is this? Portugal? I know the desert at the tip of Spain is also increasing as many years ago, I wanted to volunteer for planting. Then when I lived in Southern Spain, I realised how hot it is there, so the reason. Interesting shot and painting, one humped camels being led, carrying stores. The Silk Road is one of my passions and at first sight I thought it was from there.

Hi... there is a small desert area in the Canaries, Fuerteventura. The camels are on their way home for the night after a tourist working day. I saw this as I was driving on the spine road. Took some photos and used them for reference with a bit of my own input. Happy you liked it. Thank you.

I really like the silohuette of the camel's and their care taker walking along the desert.
The details are incredible.
The soft pastel colors against the crinkle of the paper offers nice texture.
Beautiful painting ;)
Earned my vote :)

Thank you so much and for your vote. It's very funny but the wrinkle on the paper was caused by poor storage on our boat. I tried to flatten it out and gave another thin coat over. The result is actually ok but I did think I had ruined it.

I like this. A really good work for the art landscape contest. Looks like you spruced up the sky. It looks good. This is an interesting story telling work.

Aptly created for the contest theme...

Artisitc interpretation of the reference photo with crisp and sharp outlines.
Nice details.

Paper looks saturated...
Please straighten horizontal lines next time-- just a friendly suggestion...

Nice illumination showing gorgeous colors...

Thanks!

Thank you for reviewing much appreciating your comments. The painting is about 4 years old .. was one of my first landscapes when I started. Unfortunately it was not very carefully stored on our boat and it got damp with others. My inexperience in paper quality was nix. I had used a cheap painting book . The paper had a rippled effect. I have kept it pressed . it is not as bad as it was but crinkles are still there.

Interesting. I'm glad they aren't cooped up in the zoo all day long. This reminds me of the three kings spoken of in the Bible. I like that you chose to put the camels and the person in silhouette. It is a nice contrast to the color.

Thank you for reviewing and your comments. I like that it reminds you of the 3 kings. I will think about that remark each time I look at it.

A very nicely composed painting. I think three is the perfect number of camels and that they are well positioned with lots of room in front of them. The colors are beautiful but I am not so sure about the wet look of their shadows.

Thank you for a great review. I have to say that was a close observation you made of wet shadows. I never noticed it like that and had a look at the photographs I had taken. The shadows are a mixture of yellow black and white and I think it is something to do with the contours in the sand and the sun is west that is on their right side. Now i will forever see this as wet sand. Lol.

Yes , tourist feel like in a zoo when they go to the desert, not me, since I live in a country that is mostly a desert

excellent paint, creativity and initial impact

Thank you :). I see you are in Israel... there is more than a bit of sand there. I visited in the 90s. Always wanted to go back but haven't managed it yet.
