Hi Nik, I love flowers in early bloom. I thought maybe this was a lavender bud, but I took a pic of one years ago and it looked like a cluster of tiny purple berries in a cone shape. This ma be hibiscus? Do you know? It's very pretty. I love this angle and the various shades of green muted in the background. The subject of you picture is the first thing my eyes were drawn to. Shading, contrast and focus is very detailed. Nice job.

This is a real pretty photograph! Most would not see how pretty a flower is unless they got real close like this. You have to stop and smell the roses! I think this should do well in this contest. Good luck!

I love the contrast. The focus is unique. I like the detail in the leaf on the left as opposed to the blur in the background. The flower is small indeed. I like the way your cropped the flower and leaf on the left and cropped closer on the right. Excellent work.

This is a beautiful photo. There are two aspects of the flower that stand out. First the placement to the right of the frame and the difference in colour to the background. The centre of interest is obvious. Also the lighting perfect.
