I am impressed how you captured the face of the lioness in sharp detail, especial the whiskers, eyes and eyebrows. Her expression is impressive and draw the eyes and interest of the viewer. The soft captured grass at left and the shadows in her face are not distracting. The animal is apparently on the prowl. She seems to have spied pray. The framing is adequate, but I think a square format could make it even more interesting. I would crop half of the negative space at the right.

This is a wonderful shot of the wild life. You have captured the look of the lioness well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

I think this is a great shot. I like the framing and how it emphasizes the expression of determination on her face, which immediately demonstrates that she is hunting. The exposure is very nice bringing out the rich colors of her coat nicely. I really like how the light highlights her eye lashes! I would think about brightening her eyes in post processing to really make them stand out as a focal point :) When I first started shooting I didn't think post processing was necessary, but I have learned over the years that you can turn good images into great ones with even just a little tweaking.

Thanks for the tip Envision. Any many thanks for your great review. I am just learning Photoshop and my computer program just doesn't quite get the job done. I usually use my photos for art reference but the feed back on the photos helps in both regards.

This is a fine close up of this Lioness on the hunt. You did well with auto settings. Nice focus, details and soft background.
I can get technical here, but until you are ready for manual settings it will all sound like blah blah blah.
;)
I would have cropped more on right to eliminate that dark spot. I would have cloned out the sticks in front of her. But understand that is me.
In shooting this I would have forced the zoom out to make this twigs disappear through my lens.
Most of will never get this close to Lioness in the wild.
So it's very cool to see this Christine. Your POV ( Point of view) is great coming in from a diagonal.
I would suggest you use your own copyright I stead if Fanartreview as it covers the beauty of your photo.
If you right click your photo on your computer and go to properties. You can get the EXIF data with settings.
Knowing them....I can then give you correct settings.
I hope you plan to draw one of these ladies some time soon.
Nice WILD CAT!! ;)

Thank you Sange for all the great tips! I will go back and edit this. Your information is exactly what I am looking for on this site. I think every one is afraid to say too much. I start some private photoshop lessons in a few weeks and I hope it will help with some editing. Do you submit each of your photos for your own copyright and is that a difficult process?
Will get back to you with the properties information.

Hope you were perfectly safe while you were taking this lovely wildlife photo? Your fine composition presents with a good lioness portrait to enjoy. Like the tongue licking the teeth! Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done!

Yes safe as one can hope for. Got a couple of safety reminders from out ranger while there. They are ever watchful.
Thank you for the wonderful compliments. Have some pictures of the aftermath. There she is bloody faced and licking her teeth

Glad you were looked after! Are going to upload the bloody ones?

Well, I thought about it but didn't know if they would be well received. Even the pencil drawing, (that showed no blood) I rated sensitive. I think everyone is afraid to look. Your thoughts??

Wow, I can almost hear her deep rumbling growl deep inside her...her pupils pinned on her prey...saliva dripping from her teeth. Great shot. Good exposure and focus.

A very fine shot. You got that look of intense concentration that accompanies the stalk. I like the off center placement and the great natural colors.

Christine, a beautiful picture of this Lioness eyes looking past you at potential prey possibly at some distance away. Her muscles tensed & ready when the time to chase after her prey at speed. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Great close up portrait of this lioness! It's amazing you were able to get so close! Great light and color. The background is out of focus enough to make the lioness stand out. Very well done!
