This is a super cool action shot! I love the little splash it leaves behind. You did a great job capturing the natural movement of the pelican. Really fun to view. Thanks!

Excellent shot of this pelican and you caught a real good moment, think though if you had left a bit more room in front of the bird rather than behind,i would have given another point..Brian

Thanks Brian for your comments and suggestions. I felt I had to leave room for the splash as it added to the overall feel of action. Thanks again.

This is a great action shot with lots of movenent. Moving objects I find hard to capture but here is a perfect example. There is the movement above water, the white splash of the water trail from his tail and the outward spreading of wings. The photo is clear with sharp focus and good use of light. The water with highlights and ripple is a very effective unblurred enhancement to the overall impact . .. A lovely photo

Great entry for the contest. Lovely capture of this beautiful brown Pelican looking as if he's jumped out of the water, leaving a splash behind. Very good lighting and focus showing a beautifully crisp image. Lovely composition. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

I love your pelican in early flight. I think you did a great job of capturing a beautiful position of the bird's wings. The detail is great, I have great views of his feathers and the splash.
I think they make a wonderful photography subject. Thank you for sharing!

I love how well you captured the pelican just beginning to leave the water. It looks so sharp and you can see nearly every water droplet.!!!!!

Allan,
A fantastic stop action picture of this brown Pelican taking off from the water by hop skip & a jump from the water's surface your fact exposure freezing the spray it has thrown up as it lifts off it reflection seen immediately beneath it on the rippled water rising & falling as if breathing. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.
