Your shallow dof is marvelous and gives the full attention to the bird nicely. I have not seen one of these before. I like the rich colors of his feathers and his hawk-like face. Nice sharp detail.

I always try for a profile before I start shooting head on shots like this one. The profiles always tend to be more appealing to me. A nice looking bird with great colors. Best of luck in the contest.
