This really is a beautiful shot of an all time favourite subject matter. The colours are awesome and the fading light adds mystery. Finely composed and timed this makes interesting viewing!Good luck!

A beautiful & atmospheric sunrise picture over the Yucatan Peninsular with the sun's ray radiating out from behind the clouds that are welling up over the horizon & sea up into the blue of the dawn sky above them the blue * gold reflected on the shimmering sea in the foreground. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

A beautiful scene. I like that the sun is still below the horizon and creates these radiant rays. The composition is attractive and the colors are superb. Best of luck in the contest.

Beautiful sunrise and it just always so dreamy and peaceful these shots when capture. Lighting is good and contrast is solid. Very good job and thanks for sharing

I think this is a stunning looking sunrise, and I especially like how well the rays behind the clouds are captured. So are the reflections from the colors in the shiny water. Including a boat in this scene also adds a lot.

It is standing out so sharp and well defined against the sky and sea, and the exposure is spot on. I also appreciate the nice and natural colors.

Personally I would have cropped a bit off the top to reduce the negative space, because it think the balance of the composition would be better. The boat has forever a perfect placement off to the right. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Actually I made a big mistake and posted a wrong photo, because man made objects are not allowed in this contests. I have replaced the photo with a cropped version of the same sunrise taken 8 seconds later in a slightly different angle which I hope is of similar quality.

Good that you spotted this, and I think this photo is just as lovely as the other. You are more than welcome for the reivew.

    Thank you again!
I have also to admit, that another reviewer made me aware of the violation of the contest rules.

Sometimes reviewers can be helpful. I had not read the rules for this contest, so I did not know.

    Yes, sometimes they are. :-)

A lovely entry for this contest. The way the light shines up from the sunset is really so nice as is the sunset reflection in the water. The silhouette of the sailboat brings so much feeling into the image. It may just be me but, I think the horizon dips a little to the left. I believe the rules would allow you to straighten. But, that's just a slight thing and, it may just be me. Good luck in the contest.

Going to give this five because I like the simplicity feel to this, but I do feel this would so benefit from a crop of the top in this,as the sky is fairly plain and I feel it would improve this one...Brian

Dramatic twilight's last gleaming on that horizon.
Dynamic rays illuminating the fading skyline.....

Cute cloud formations.

Please read the contest rules.
It states that it should not include any man made object...

Isn't the sky portion too vast?

Just my thoughts though....

Best of luck in the contest!
Thanks!

Beautiful. I love the composition and intensity of color. Subjectively and personally, I wish it was all a bit lighter. I would also have lightened the hull of the boat a tad but that is just my opinion and others may see it just fine as it is.
