the scan has made the photo blury but I can still see the image and can image this little sausage dog taking a deep breath and ...here goes.. we have a fantastic advert with a sausage dog having to run with his short little legs by the side of a young, fit modern. jogger goddess, and sighing, is this really necessary!! Reminds me of that..

What a great story! Charlie looks like a sweetie with his cute profile and short legs! I am glad he braved his fear :) you chose a perfect song for this shot.

This is a nice photo, however, it seems a little out of focus to me! Nice colors and an adorable subject! Overall, a nice photo! Good luck in the contest!

Nice presentation of the song, but , the photo is very blur and grainy and this takes from the initial impact

also, the focus should be on the dog, not the "bridge"

thanks for sharing

Thanks Miranda for your nice review. I think the music to that song sounds brooding and sad. But actually the lyrics are of either him or some say Christ saying that even when you're alone and weary, when you're down and out, I will lay me down, like a bridge over troubled waters. I've sang along to that song it seems all my life, and I think it takes really listening to the lyrics and for those who aren't necessarily religious people, if they listen with an open mind, it does sound like it's Christbhe's talking about. But just as much he could be saying those same words to a lost love. Or his mom. Or his sister. Whoever those words are meant to REPRESENT, they are beautiful words and I think we can only hope for a love like that.

This image tells the story of that day long ago with your little Black and Tan Dachshund, Charlie, as he overcomes his fear and crosses over the water, to him that was pretty scary too! I love the song title, I love the song by Simon and Garfunkel, it has a special meaning to me, I feel that it fits your photograph very well! This photo is worn and has a back in the day look , I am rating with five stars because I love the song, I love the subject of your photo , I love the story this tells and I appreciate your sharing Charlie with us! Best wishes to you in this contest!

Thanks Pat, with it being an old film photo and scanned, etc...it was a challenge to bring it to life. But I thought about how it made me smile, as i looked at it and remembering that moment and what a great little dog he was. I hoped Charlie could make this photo work. Thanks for the kind review.

A very nice shot and a fine entry for this contest. The image is not as sharp as it might be, but the pose is perfect and the composition is excellent. Best of luck in the voting.

Hi Mike, thanks for your nice review. Yes, the sharpness is always lost to some extent when scanning a developed 35mm photo. But it's a photo from 1989. I tried to sharpen it, but had to settle for what it was. It really was a cute moment. Thanks for the kind review.

A great picture of your beloved Dachshund Charlie gingerly crossing the fast flowing water tail in the air water flowing over the plank & his paws. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with love & superb camera & editing techniques. Juno sends her doggy greetings.
