This pink Camellia is so beautiful, and I especially like the all black background and the green leaves. The flower is standing out from it in an excellent way, and the light is falling on it in such a lovely way.
The photo is sharp showing clear and well defined details both in the petals of the flower and the leaves, while the center of the bloom is a tad soft. The exposure is very good.
The cropping is well done and the flower has got a perfect placement off to the left. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo Allan, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.

You are more than welcome Allan. No vacation in Greece until September, but I am going to Wales in June renting a river boat. Never been there before, so I am looking forward to it.

Hi Allan, it certainly is a pleasure to view this pretty pink camellia that has just bloomed, this is such a welcome sight and a lovely symbol of spring, I love the yellow center surrounded by the creamy white petals that surround it I can see the gradual change from the creamy white to the pale pink surrounded by two rows of a deeper tone and the paler pink again in the outer two rows of petals, I love that the green leaves are included as they provide a beautiful contrast to the pink. This is of course, well focused, the image is nice and clear, exposure is perfectly controllled and the colors and tones are natural. This is well arranged within the square frame and the leaves are clear and show good detail too. This is well presented ! Best wishes to you in the contest!
