Beautifully written poem and artists notes tell your story.
A good presentation and foreground interest with the chair in the sand with the starburst hovering above. Good camera techniques and nice timing get the perfect shot. Very well photographed with a gorgeous sunset beautiful warm colors against the dark blues. Outstanding work and thanks for sharing.

    Thank you so much Mary Lynn for your review and comments. The funny thing is that I was late for the sunset and nothing to use as a foreground. So I grabbed a beach club chair, stuck it in the sand and started taking pictures. Sometimes you jus have to make do with what you have ~ Steve

Hello Steve,
longtime that I didn't comment one of your pics; the opposite also true;
I like this one since I like sunsets; as usual, a sophisticated composition with saturated colors;

Hi Steve, Read your notes and I love the thought behind this. I was inspired to write this shot poem because of your image.

{The golden sun will never wait ...For those that might pass by... For there's a time when it must slip...Behind horizon's sky.}

It's a shame when we don't take the time to view something as beautiful as a sunset.
Each one is special and unique. The lonely chair makes the viewer realize the things that they let slip through their fingers. A well thought out photo My Friend! :o) Nancy

    Hi Steve, Sounds like you wrote that poem. It's lovely. If you did write it, you connect with pictures the same way I do. The words come from what you feel. I'm a member of Fan Story too! I have not posted anything there for a while though. Thank you for the kind words in your reply to my review. :o) Nancy

I think this image has a strong emotional impact. When I look at the empty chair facing the surrounding beauty, I immediately think and feel a sense of loss, which gives me the impression of regret. A good reminder of how important it is to soak up the good things in life. I also really enjoy the color and texture of the clouds in the foreground.

Hi Steve thank you for sharing this thought provoking scene which most definitely prompts one to ask themselves the question. Taking time to truly enjoy the beauty nature provides for our pleasure.. The scene is stunning in every sense of the word. the greyish hue in the sky above watches over the foreshore awaiting that special moment when the golden sunlight simply spreads its spendour across the distant horizon to dazzle the eyes, fulfill the spirit and quieten the soul. The placing of the sinking sun directly above the topmost frame of the chair is perfect. It seems to represent several emotions. Not only that time stands still for no one so enjoy the now. the moment of glory and amazement awaits all who take a moment to enjoy the view. It also represents the soul of those who choose to take a seat and enjoy the serenity all around them. its glow is an energy that heals, enriches and promotes love . In your scene it offers great depth of view and a feeling of being grounded. a symbol of stability and security for those whose wisdom allows them to understand its essence.
The moving waters below with their rippling waves offer great textural value to your scene and draw the eyes attention towards the stillness of the chair that sits alone awaiting the company of those ready to share the beauty. I love the final blackness in the foreground as it contrasts greatly against the dappled cloud formation in the sky above..
Thank you Steve for once again sharing a scene that entices the mind's eye to be in the moment. To truly appreciate the joys that are spread before our eyes and the ongoing belief that life is full of beauty if we just take the time to open our hearts, reach out with our soul and relish the value of pure luxury.. wonderful presentation, with excellent clarity and a profound angle to capture what truly matters in life. cheers mel

    Mel,

    Once again your review and deeply Insightful comments far exceed the scene presented. Your ability to "See and Embrace" an image is such a wonderful gift. I do so appreciate your Grand rating. What is More important to me is that I know it helps you to see at an even more sublime level where one does not so much see buy rather senses and intuits the gift of the image. As I have said before, GOD sets the scene. I merely push the button when told to do so.

Wow, this is a spectacular sunset! I love the deep dark evening tones with a beautiful starburst in the sun. This really is the perfect setting to stop, relax and take it all in, with an excellent front row seat. Technically perfect, the tones, exposure and spot on focus really capture the mood with amazingly subtle details that truly enhance this image. Your words are beautiful and inspiring, but so much else can be seen in this photo. Remarkable work FS..really an honor to view.

    Aw thank you VO. I really appreciate your artistic review and More than Generous rating. The funny thing is that I was late for the sunset and couldn't find anything to use as a foreground. So I just grabbed a chair from one of the beach restaurants, stuck it in the sand and started shooting away. Got lucky. The words came after gazing at the scene this morning before posting.

    Thank you so much again my VO ~ FS

Hi Steve, I really appreciate what you have written here, it's sadly true, people get so caught up in doing that they forget how to just be, they miss the flowers blooming on the side of a road, the sounds of the birds chirping , the beautiful sunrises that bring the first light to a day, and beautiful sunsets such as this one , there is an empty chair, a perfect spot to sit and take in this magnificent beauty around them, the sun just before it dips below the horizon , sending the beautiful rich orange tones across the sky rising up and illuminating the silvery clouds and reaching across the water right to the empty chair. This is a perfect way to end a day sitting silently and fully taking in this beauty .this is well photographed with good focus, this image is clear, the lighting is well managed, colors are beautiful. I can feel that you are one of the fortunate ones who appreciates the beauty that is provided just for the taking, you do consider a special moment such as this as a gift, I really appreciate knowing that about you! This is well presented!

    Thank you so much Pat. I have often thought the same thing about many of your scenes. You can "See" in a scene what others do not. In that respect we are both very blessed. Perhaps we need to "Help" others to "see" by occasionally posting some scenes that may show that there is beauty staring them right in the face and they fail to recognize.

    Thank you again Pat for your Artistically Inspiring review ~ Steve

Perfect setting indeed. It seems that the reflection on the chair seat took the place of the observer. The scenic view is impressive even without the busy observer. The metaphorical meaning is also clear. The photo illustrates your free verse poem excellently. The sunset colors are gorgeous. The photo is also well focused, balanced and framed.

    Thank you so much Cleo for your wonderful review and Grand rating. Very much appreciated.

    Even More appreciated is the fact that you so artistically "read" the scene and blended the verse to create a wonderful new composition in and of itself.

    Thank you again Cleo ~ Steve

Very profound, Steve! What a beautiful tranquil scene for you to sit and meditate in, watching the setting sun disappearing over the horizon as the water laps gently into the shore. Very good lighting and focus. Lovely composition. Suzanne
