A very nice perspective on these boats at anchor. The composition is excellent and the colors are eye catching. Best of luck in the contest.

I really do like this picture. The colors are very pretty. I fail to see however the selective color. Any selective color I have seen is a black and white with one thing in color. I still like this.

Your review and view are interesting. Thank you for your comments they are much appreciated... . I now wonder if I read the rules right I umthought that the aim was a selected colour, as main or focus main, in this case red sky and reflections, and the rest had to be black and white. I am happy you like it however

This is a great photograph of these sailboats! The color of the sunset is really beautiful (fires or not), it is really pleasing to the eye. Thank you for sharing.

Just beautiful! A great initial impact, the color saturation and starburst effect atop the mast are gorgeous, making this such a surreal image.Very well presented,a wonderful contest entry,I wish you all the best!

This is an impressive sunset and it is well photographed. The silhouettes of the boats are excellent emphasized by the sky colors and their reflection in the water. The tall format is adequate for the captured scenery.
However nice the photo is. I am afraid it will be disqualified from the contest. The rules demand the selection of one color on black and white. Please, check the contest rules.

Thank you for your time to review this and your valued comments. I did study yhe rules and my idea on this was red and its varients, which are still red, being the colour and the rest was as is black and white. I did sharpen the colour, perhaps in hindsight i should have left alone as the red white and black were more stark too late now. But your point and view are very welcome.

I still have doubts. Maybe shades of red would go through, but on my screen I see some yellow and orange sourrounding the reds. Yellow is a primary color and orange is a secondary color. Please contact the hose of the contest and ask him/her.

Thanks again. It's too late to revert back to the unsharoened version as I have had quite a lot of reviews. There was one other said same as you. Not sure what to do now as contacting provider of contest may look like flagging. Just keeping my fingers crossed. Was done Innocently. On my screen seemed ok. Thanks again.

    Sorry,
Do you know that you do not loose your reviews when you change back to your unsharpened version? [Just open your picture from your portfolio, click above the big version of your photo on the right the edit-tab. When your entry page is open, click on "replace with a better version". :o)

Oh thanks I didn't know. Will try it

I had some memory flaws about the wording. The correct names of the tabs are: " Edit This" then "Upload Modified Image".
When all is done you need to "Save" your image again. When the upload is done you will be ask again about the watermark. Chose from the options and click on what you want. Best luck. :o)

Wonderful initial impression: I love the red surrounding the yellow sky at sunset , the sailboats in silhouette add further interest, the reflections on the water are beautiful. This is well focused, the image is clear, exposure is well managed, the colors and tones are beautiful! Well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in the contest!

Thank you so much for your review and much valued remarks. i am now in a quandry as you see yellow there and the comp is for a selected colour and the rest black and white. When i sharpened the colour red i intended tbe surrounding influence to be varients of red. Perhaps it will not be allowed. 2 others have mentioned scrutiny of the rules. Oh dear!

This is a very beautiful sunset and I love the flares coming out of the sun! You composed this very well with the front boat slightly off center and the other boats in the background. Best of luck in the contest!

Looks like a very grand entry into the competition presented here! Your fine and classical composition does a great job of capturing your beautiful location. The smoke there must have been a problem? Sharpness and exposure are good. Well done and good luck!
