I not only love the butterfly in this image, but noticed the three primary colors immediately! What a great entry for the contest! I think incorporating these colors really brings this image to life and draws in the viewer on a subconscious level! BEAUTIFUL work! Best wishes in the competition!

Cleo what a little stunner of a butterfly image! Incredible detail with this type of nature study that is not easy to do!
The plainish blues in the sky really adds to the focus of the main subject, the light is wonderful, obe slight thing is does that red flower take away from the subjectm yes it does for me but because the image is so strong anyway I can live with that and still give 5 stars!

Thank you very much forb your kind review and critic. I could remove, [clone the flower]. Thing is if the flower wouldn't be there, this butterfly would not approch the plant. So I don't no if this would be appropriate since this is a realistic photo.

Very nice treatment of the swallowtail resting on the red flower. Good focus and definition in the shot which also has an almost drawn quality to it. I like the way the bare branches lead across with the single blossom to the butterfly. The background works well. Thank you for sharing.

Oh this is very nice Cleo. Very eye appealing with the contrasting Yellow and Black against the Blue sky.
The branches add a nice touch of drama to the scene, as does the lone red flower.

What a wonderful closeup of my favorite butterfly. When I was young I used to raise these in a jar in my bedroom, then I would let them go; I swear one year the same butterfly came back the following year.
