I think you're right then again maybe he's being a gentleman and letting her get the food first. I guess we'll never know. The color is very nice as it is the composition. Your background is blurred which is good because your bird stands out better. All in all a very nice photo

I like how the two branches frame out his plum stout body.
Great clarity on this Bullfinch with Superb eye clarity.
I may have cropped a bit more on the left and softened the background more.
But that is me. I do think you did a fine job with his colors and details.
Nicely done Susan ;)

Hi Susan,
Thank you for sharing this beautiful photograph. I didn't know what it was so glad you gave us the lowdown. Very clear picture, with an interesting angle. He nicely framed between the two branches which highlights him even more. Are you a major birder?

Thanks a million for your complementary review on this male Bullfinch in my Fuchsia bush.
I've been interested in birds since I was child. I can recognise most of the garden birds in these Islands off mainland Europe if I don't know a bird I will photograph it & look it up.

That is probably a good thing. The women are much smarter and they can multitask. This guy is beautiful I love his colors. Is he cold and puffed out or is he fat from his woman friend bringing him food? We may never know.

Mary,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this chubby looking puffed up against the cold breeze Bullfinch...They are stocky little birds & I'm lucky to have them in my garden as they do not usually frequent feeders.
