This is a great close up. The details are sharp. I like how well that honeycomb pattern and texture stands out. The fuzzy areas and the colors look good too.

Sometimes these guys will pose forever while you shoot your shots, other times they won't sit still for a second. Last year I got very few shots. When they sit still it's like heaven on earth! I'm thrilled you enjoyed this shot. Thank you for the wonderful review!

The eyes are sharp captured. I could count their facets. The close up and center positioning gives the photo the appearance of an abstract. The soft background emphasized the insect well. The composition is balanced and adequately framed.

Well, your focus is wonderful. Look at all those little fine hairs around the eyes. Color is very well managed and nicely saturated. Good shallow depth of field to show your subject off. It's a very nice photo. Good luck in the contest
