This looks like a scene outside my window earlier in the month. This is a great image of a pretty female junco in her gray plumage.I like the few flakes adoring her feathers and the fluffy texture of the snow she sits in. A very lovely presentation with beautiful focus,I'll just be glad when they leave and go to their "breeding grounds" farther up our road!

I like your shallow DOF because it shows your little guy off. The focus is good and clear. Your color is well-managed and your snow is white - - good job. And you did get a catch light in it say. Very nice

They must be low on body fat by now. This picture with all the gray tones certainly supports you chilly April in Minnesota. I really like how you get blurred backgrounds and still have the snow effect so soft looking. We have a lot of Juncos as well, but at least for now without the snow. Great photo!

Thank you kindly for your very nice comments :) It's been snowing for the last three days now and I have seen so many of these guys in large groups around feeders acting as though they may never get another meal, lol!

Grace,
A beautiful picture of this little Junco on the snow with more falling around it, it's feathers puffed up against the cold. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

A very nice capture of the junco. I like the blurred background and the blurred snowflakes. The muted colors speak very well for the image. Well done.

Aww, such a handsome little fella. I'm really enjoying your nature photos. I like how you did the center composition again for this picture and thanks for posting the settings you used. Beautiful picture, and as always, thanks for sharing!

This is an interesting shot showing the capriciousness of mother nature. You captured good natural color and nice detail. The Junko seems to have its feathers fluffed, isolating itself from the cold and indeed doesn't mind the snow. April is known for its boisterous temperament, but now it seems behind measure. While you got winter back in Minnesota it is 85 degrees in Texas.

Thank you! 85 degrees is too hot for me, lol! I prefer the snow or temps in the 70s :)
-
For me it's not hot before the thermometer hits 110.

You,probably, beat Buffalo,N.Y.,with our 118.7 inches of snow, this year.Beautiful green-gray,above his white breast;and, too, the flocked snow on the railing that he straddles makes this a lovely winter scene.
Regards,
Joanna

Wow, that is a lot of snow :) We are not even close to that much. I think we have had somewhere around 80 inches, 39 of that was in February. You get way more snow then we do with the lake effects. I hadn't realized it was that much! I'm glad you had some sunshine today. Thank you for the nice review too!

Had a spot of sunshine;but, mainly, wind and rain, today. But,also, had the opportunity to see a live Flamenco performance. Also, 90 inches is an average winter snowfall for Buffalo. We had a blizzard in January, which added the rest.
