Beautiful image of an Mauritius Foody, nice detail, beautiful colors and well balanced image and nicely framed. Nicely composed in the frame. Overall, well done.

Fantabulous avian species with interesting colored plumage design.
A great visual aids material for kids.
Subdued illumination.
Nice letterbox framing.

Cleo, your post is perfect as always! With the attention to the subject and details! Complete artist notes! Excellent composition! The red stands out well! The rest of the bird is in the shadow part... perfectly composed and presented! !!

Cleo, I love that you are portraying endangered species. I find birds difficult to render but you have done an excellent job here. I get the sense that the bird just landed on the branch as he brings a piece of nesting material to his mate.

Nice job. The picture is clear and the focus is good too. It also has good lighting as well. I think it's great the way it is. Nice job and good luck to you.

A beautiful photo/painting of a pretty big that appears to be in a snowy habitat. Somehow the little guy found something green to eat.I like the colors a lot and the way the bird stands out from the background. I really like the shadow. I know that seems like a weird thing to like but it is really very beautifully done!

Thank you very much for your kind comments. The bird is small, only 5.5 inches [14 cm] and lives at Mauritius an African island. This is a painting, not a photo. :o)

loving these super wildlife drawings. i'm a massive fan of these and reminding me of the old time books, i still collect of (text and) drawings only. you always produce a fitting colour, which most importantly looks 100% natural but retains the magic of your artistic touch.

This is a pretty bird that I have not seen before. I like how you used the lighter colors to accentuate and highlight his markings. The color blending on the bark is lovely with attractive textures.
