Lovely photo of these cute birds! I like the expression on the lower bird's face and the way it's looking at the camera. The green oval frame works very well for this photo.

Not just one robin Susan but two now that been greedy!! what a moment were these a mateing pair or two males getting ready for a fight! The one at the top certainly looks like a male getting ready for such a duel!

    Adrian,
I believe they are a couple the one in front is I believe the female as she flew back to the nest in the Ivy on the fence. The one behind is a male but
I' m not sure if he is het mate as there are three Robins that visit my feeders... occasionally I see all three at the same time..them an aerial battle ensues when one is sent packing.

The expression on this bird is priceless and you captured it very well. I really like the oval vignette as it draws focus on these two characters. Really a great capture of the singing nature of these two love birds!

Thanks a million for your complementary review on this pair of Robins in the Fuchsia bush. It was ONE of those lucky quick shots that I could not anticipate..I saw two red breasts & clicked not sure what I'd captured until after wards.

Nice title and nice window creation through your frame - the frame color is well chosen reflecting nature - it was a good idea as the window draws us to your focus point the 2 birds
good angle - natural genuine color saturation, contrast and lighting , I think this is a lovely shot showing the birds family life, big example for men, well done

I think it is adorable!! The one above must be the male. I don't really know how you can tell the gender of a Robin. That would be a good research project for me. I know how you feel when technically it is not all there, but there is something in the picture that compels you to want to share. I think this is one of those times.

    Mary,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this pair of Robins.... It's virtually impossible to tell the sexes apart unless you notice the brood patch on the female, which the male lacks as he does not incubate the eggs... I think you are right about the male making the noise...the lower one the female flew into the nest immediately after this. I've been watching her for about two weeks now.. the chicks should hatch very soon.

We will need to share photos of the progress.

This is a delightful photograph of 2 robins in a type of thicket tree or bush. It has fine details and good focus overall. The colours are crisp. My only thought is regarding the similarity of colours almost making the birds in a camouflage situation and difficult to define. There again they just might be sitting observing for themselves, not wishing to be discovered. Its a good example of robins in a natural setting and a pleasure to view.

    Brenda,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this pair of Robins in the Fuchsia bush. It was just a quick snap shot point & shoot picture NO time to do fancy camera settings as the whole episode was over in a split second, from the time I first spied the two near another. in a couple of weeks this would be totally impossible as the bush is now coming into leaf with a few flower buds just visible on the outer branches. It's only possible to see two of these European Robins in the breeding season. At other time the fwouls chase away the second.

My fail Susan. I always read the notes but yours I missed this time, because I remember my phone rang and distracted me. I have read them now, apologies.. They explain your shot . Which as I said is a good capture and i agree you have to grab opportunities when they arise. I see also on closer look that it's a fuscia which as you say will become dense I no time.

This is very cute, especially the pose you captured of the bird on the top. The colors look good and the vignette helps makes the background less distracting. Very nice detail and view of the robins.

    Grace,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this pair of Robins in the Fuchsia bush they literary stayed like this for just a split second before the lower Robin flew back to her nest in the Ivy.

The tangle of the Fuchsia branches makes a perfect diagonal nest that adds to the drama of the singing male robin, courting the female. The greenery behind them, also, adds depth and interest to your photograph.
Cordially,
