The lighting in this photo is excellent. Depth of field is also good in that everything is sharp. You have captured the birds in their natural habitat. This image is refreshing thanks for sharing.

You are right Susan, perhaps not the sharpest of photos, but who would not fall in love with the singing Robin in the background ? I don't mind the Fuchsia branches, and I also think the light is falling on the birds in a lovely way.
Even if the photo isn't pin sharp it is clear and well defined details to be seen, and the exposure is very good.
I also like the way you have composed the photo with a good placement of the two birds within an oval frame. A truly sweet and all together well taken photo.

Annie,
Thanks a million for your complementary review & kind words on this pair of Robins I caught in the Fuchsia bush taken almost blind..I could see the red breasts in the bush, pointed the camera & clicked not truly knowing what I'd captured until I looked at the camera's screen.

This is an excellent photo representation, especially for the interesting geometry formed by the various branches surrounding your subjects. Very well done and thank you for sharing.

Thanks a million for your complementary review on this Snapshot of the pair of Robins in my Fuchsia bush. & for understanding how birds act. One of those lucky shots as it only lasted seconds before they both flew off.

Well this is a very fun photo. And those tangle of branches make a nice camouflage for your birds. The colors are very nice as is your composition. And for shooting through the patio door it's very clear. Thanks for sharing

I think the circular crop works really well with these bird pictures. I'm not sure what it is, I just like it. Very sharp photo, I maybe would've liked a little more contrast between the birds and the background, just my opinion. Very beautiful photo though and as always, thanks for sharing!

Thanks a million for your complementary review on this pair of European Robins in the Fuchsia bush outside my kitchen. They are about Sparrow size half that of your American Robins.

I agree Susan. The bird in the back seems the be carrying on about something while the bird in front seems to be completely ignoring the chatter.
As you say it may not be the perfect photo but the stuff it tell makes it a good point and shoot. Thank you for the smile ~Steve

Steve,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this pair of Robins in the Fuchsia bush. It's unusual to see Robins together except during the breeding season. The lower one I think is the female as she flew off seconds later to the best in the Ivy on the fence.

Pity the birds are lost on the background, you should have used a closed shutter to make the background blur
also, the huge frame is a distraction
thanks for sharing

A lovely pair of robins in a somewhat jumbled setting. The birds are well shown and the colors are beautiful. I like the elliptical presentation; almost like looking into another world.
