Another great photograph of a couple of awesome birds! The color differences in the male and female cardinal is pretty interesting, it shows the beauty in nature! Thanks for sharing Envision!

Toooooo Cute! It's so Spesh to see male birds act in a gentleman way to their ladies.
Love th story behind the photo, the sharp focus, the fine exposure/ white balance control and the way they are facing one another.
Nice work Greenie :)

Sorry you missed the shot you wanted. But this is really cute. Your focus is very good and there's even a catch light in the male's eye. The composition is very nice. The color is well-managed and saturated perfectly. Nice photo

Never mind, it's still a sweet shot that you have posted here! Your fine and almost central composition gives us an enjoyable look at your loving couple. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done!

Excellent Grace!

I've never heard of the cardinals feeding each other. wonder if that is part of their mating thing?

I love seeing both the male and female here.

Colors and focus are wonderful!

Thank you! I think it is a part of their courtship ritual. I've seen a few of them do it, but only in the spring at the beginning of mating season.

That is what I call real love Grace, and it is a pity you missed the feeding. Still the two of them are still looking truly sweet, and as always you have pictured them so well. Perhaps not the most perfect background, but the two birds are standing out from it in an excellent way.

The photo is sharp showing such clear and well defined details in both birds, and the light is falling on them in such a lovely way.

Personally I would have cropped a bit off at the bottom, but still this is an all together lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

Thank you very Annie for your great review. I did consider cropping off the bottom but then I'd need more at the top and the background became even more distracting. So I decided to go with more snow instead. I might try some more :)

I see what you mean Grace, and you are more than welcome for the review.

I guess that sunflower seed is an engagement gift for his lady. I can see it laying in the snow near her foot. Seems as if the lady let wait him a bit, making sure he will obey her and provide food for the family.
The birds are nicely caught in an interesting situation. The photo has good depth. I think a slight crop below would emphasize the birds and the seed even more. I appreciate the natural-realistic colors.

Thank you very much Cleo! I struggled with the notion of cropping off the bottom, but I would have to add more at the top to keep the correct ratio and I preferred the snow over the busy background. I might play around it with some more :)

True, the background is to busy for extention, but I think cropping 1/2 below would just create a panorama format. It would be a different ratio, but that does not mean it would look bad. :o)

Thank you Cleo! That is true, I could make it panoramic :)

I love that you got the male and female together in the frame, I like their positions as they face each other and this allows a good look at the differences between the male and the female. This is well focused, the image is clear, I see good detail on both birds, well managed exposure, the colors and tones appear natural. Well composed and presented!
