Grace,
A beautiful picture of this Common Loon it's head turned so it can fix it sparkling eye on you, while the water droplets are clinging to the top of it's head & are sparking in the light light like liquid diamonds. It's reflection behind it is a bonus along with the blue sky also reflected on the water's glistening surface. Artistic composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

I love the pearl necklace around his neck;the small squares of white on his wings. His head to the side displays his eye, with a white highlight in it,beautifully. Also, his reflection in the water is top notch!
Regards,
Joanna

Wow! I am so partial to these Common Loons and hope to see one sometime. Since the eye is so sharp just draws us right into your photography. Nice is your off center composition.....emotionally strong. Very well photographed with good lighting, focus, details. Outstanding shot and thanks for sharing. Beautiful work Grace!

Beautiful capture Greenie!
I have never seen a Loon in person. I am intrigued by their smooth head that looks like it's made from a bald rubber tire.
Love the side turn, the red eye and the fine focus on this beautiful bird.
I didn't know it was your state bird. Ours is the Northern Mocking bird.
Nice work behind your lens G!

HI Envision, Love how you captured the droplets on the Loon's feathers. You captured that bright red eye perfectly. I see your getting the over-the-shoulder look. The shot is beautiful with Great lighting and focus. This is one pretty bird. Lovely presentation! :o) Helvi

This is an excellent shot. The details are very crisp. I see a nice light reflection in the eye and water drops on head and beak even in the gloomy light. The markings are crisp, so that the species is easy identifiable. The reflection in the water is intriguing. The photo is well framed and balanced.
