GRACE!!! I love this image as a sign of spring!!! The composition is perfect! The colors and tones are soft. The position of the head is perfect! I love the full reflections in the water and the "neckless". Hope to see more signs of spring in Minnesota soon!!! Thanks for sharing an image of the State bird!!!

He is beautiful and I love his pose with his back facing me but he turned his head to allow a good look at his face and bill, and a good clear look at his eye! This is well focused, the image is clear, exposure is well managed, the colors and tones appear natural, really appreciate that catch light in his eye ! Well composed and presented!

:):) Nice title! Very apt. This is a fine shot of the bird. The clarity of the image is good. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well.

What a nice scene here Grace. The focus is nice and sharp and the colors are perfectly rendered. I like the position of the Loon in the frame. The water is well done and accents the bird. Well done Grace ~ Steve

Cool,Grace!
These fascinating aquatic birds can be heard all over in the lakes and ponds over here in the Adirondacks,my friend, and there are several unusual Native American myths associated with them!
I've heard their calls but I've never actually seen one so it's great seeing your fine looking picture of this specimen as it floats along!

Thank you Sean! Last year was the first time I had seen one in person and I have lived in Minnesota for a few decades :)

I rarely see loons this far south in Michigan but up north they are a real treat to hear as well as see. A well composed image with fine detail and a nice bit of a reflection.

This doesn't look real, more like a decoy. Good sharp focus with much detail. Interesting color. Nice work on the eye. Nice reflection. Well seen and captured. Thank you for sharing.

are these the birds they are referring too in the saying.."crazy as a loon?'..or how bout.."you loony"...or maybe "dont give me that loony look!"..just curious..lol. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of this loon on the water looking back at ya is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.
