windy ripples on waves

Your framing of the waves and the angle emphasize those ripples nicely and I like the shape of the curves in the waves. The rocks in the foreground are a nice element to the image too.

Nice shot here Nancy. You did catch the wave well as it rolls onto the shore. The little ripples are cool.

One thing that I might suggest: When you come upon a scene like this in addition to standing and shooting down on the action, try changing the perspective a bit by squatting down and getting a shot that is a bit more level with the action. It often gives a more dramatic look and the viewer feels like "They are right there". Does that make sense?

Good work on this one Nancy. Keep them coming ~ Steve

Hi Steve, Your suggestion makes total sense and I have done what you suggested here in the past. Sometimes I've had the camera almost on the ground, but this situation did not provide the landscape to do that. Not only does slippery sea weed block your path near the water but the beach is downhill with very uneven jagged shale. This is one place you do not want to slip. I love kneeling down and capturing waves. The results can be fantastic. I'm with you 100%! I appreciate that you shared that idea, because it means that you're really looking at the image. When you know someone is taking the time to do that it means a LOT! Thank you for the Great Review! :o) Nancy

nice capture of the water motion, but there is no center of interest, neither a story telling in here and this is why I gave you a low rate

thanks for sharing

Hi Galia, Did you see the miniscule ripples in the waves that's what this image is all about? Just wanted to check because these aren't ordinary waves. This is waves on waves in a way because the waves and whole surface of the water looks like seersucker fabric. I felt that the seersucker look of the waves was the point of interest. You can stand by your review 100% , I just would like to know if you saw that factor? :o) I very much respect your reviews! :o) Nancy

A beautiful image that captures the serenity of the moment very well. There is great poetry where the water meets the land and you show it nicely in this shot.

I have no doubt that you believed you took an interesting shot at your location. Unfortunately for me I do not understand your notes. Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely taken and good luck!

Hi Nik, AS the sun was setting the waves picked up. The winds was causing ripples on the waves. If you look at the waves you can see them. There is a fabric called seersucker. It has a ruffled look to it. If you look it up on the web you can see how it resembles the waves, If you don't want to that's ok too! I Still appreciate your time reviewing and am definitely a fan of yours. :o) Nancy

I have seen this happen myself. I think it is caused by the surge water floating back beneath the surface. It is surely a sight to see. The diagonal arrangement of the waves and the stony shore in the foreground are intriguing. The composition is balanced and adequately framed.

I love to spend time by the sea, I like to watch the waves, come in and the winds effect on the water, this is an interesting view of the water as the wind has given it the look of seersucker material, with the little well defined indents just like the fabric has. I also like this view of the rocks and plants that are bringing the different textures and colors to this scene. This is of course, well focused, the image is clear, exposure is well managed, the colors and tones appear natural. Well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in the contest!

You forgot one thing Pat,... listening to the waves come in. I love that sound! The sound of both the sea or a lake has a soothing sound to it. Thanks for the Great Review my Friend! I always enjoy hearing from you! :o) Nancy
