Great capture of this little green caught in mid flight,Very sharp focus and exposure.I like the legs stretched out as though it was attempting to tip toe across the water's surface.Beautiful positioning of the wings, gives us a look at both the top as well as the underside. A gorgeous stop action photo!

Grace,
A wonderful stop action picture of this little Green Heron taking off from the reed bed & flyin up between the closely packed reeds growing along the shore line. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

I like the sounds they make when they are landing or taking off. Great timing capture the take off stretch. Our wetlands look identical with the same reeds and duckweed.
Nice focus, exposure and eye clarity!
Sweet find and capture Greenie :)

Thank you very much! This is one of the more 'reedier' of the wetlands that I go to. I like these the sounds these guys make too :)

The take off of this one is wonderfully captured Grace.

Nice sharp focus and good color rendering. As I mentioned in your other photo, the pond and reeds add such a natural touch to the scene.

Good work Grace ~ Steve

I can for sure start by saying that the stop action is perfect in this photo of a Green Heron in flight, and I also like the reeds as a background. The light is falling on the bird in a lovely way, and it is also standing out from the background in an excellent way.

The photo is also pin sharp showing such clear and well defined details in all parts of the bird, and the exposure is perfect.

The format and framing is working well, and the bird has been given room to fly into. This of course makes for a good and well balanced composition. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo Grace, and with an excellent DOF.

A well timed shot and a beautiful image. The upward reach of the wings gives you a great view of his face. Beautiful colors and very sharp details in the heron.
