"So much for that one!" he's probably thinking!
He's certainly an attractively feathered creature though, isn't he?
Your photo of him among the branches looks great,Grace!

Yes that look says it all. I guess you can't with them all.

Beautiful picture of this male Gold Finch. Colors are nice and natural. The blues sky background really accents this fellow.

Well done Grace ~ Steve

Thank you! His expression makes me laugh when I put human emotions to it :)

Yes he does look rather defeated. Doesn't he pop against the blue background.
Nice tight bird portrait that is crisp. I really think if the photographers on this site got together they could out do any bird field guide and get it published. I am really not joking on this.

Poor guy, well there are more females out there,if it's anything like my house;they sit in the small crab apple tree near the feeder giving it the appearance of being covered with brilliant yellow blooms! Very well focused and framed nicely with the surrounding branches,he is very brilliant with his yellow plumage, topped off by a jaunty black beret. Many thanks for sharing this "wild canary" as my father-in-law called them!

Thank you for your nice comments :) I like the term wild canary for these guys!

Your central composition is strong. I think you low perspective aids in your composition. Superb eye clarity. Very well photographed with beautiful lighting, sharp focus, and good details in the feathers and markings of the goldfinch. Outstanding work and thanks for sharing!

This is a wonderful shot of the bird!. You have framed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

Aw. Haha. Rejection hits hard for every species I guess, right? Nice capture of this moment. The Goldfinch stands out nicely with his vibrant colors against the blue sky and between the branches and twigs. Great job, and better luck next time, little guy!

A quite nice nature shot posted here! Think he was trying to work out what was wrong with his wooing technique!! Your fine and central composition allows us an enjoyable look at your bird and it's location. Exposure and composition are good. Nicely done!
